SMOOTH by JS in Iowa on 11/29/2005. Trim: 1989 Jaguar Vanden Plas, Owned 3 years.
Cons: lots of maintainance, expensive parts, electronics faulty, electric door locks dont always work properly, idiot lights always flashing ...had it looked at by mechanic and is fine just faulty computer!
Overall review: I've had great cars and this one is great! The ride is smooth and so is acceleration, so smooth you need to watch your speed(tickets). I like to tinker with cars so this Jag is my kind of car. People love this car and ask about it often. If you want a drive till it drops car get a Toyota. If you want class get a Jaguar.

THE 3.6 THAT KIKX . by RASTABABY FROM DA U.K. on 03/12/2003. Trim: 1989 Jaguar XJ6, Owned 3 years.
Pros: 3.6 has enough clout to keep 'em guessing.
Cons: Exterior Door Handles tend to get Brittle, resulting in breakage. Cheap tacky Indicator arm/Wiper control arm.
Overall review: Not a bad start to exploring the WORLD OF JAGUAR.

Beverly Hills look-a-like by Wanna be rich form FL on 07/29/2002. Trim: 1989 Jaguar Vanden Plas, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Everything, from the handling to the comfort there's no other for the price.
Cons: I purchased an after market warranty, it can get expensive for repairs.
Overall review: Makes you feel like a million. Nothing looks and handles like a jag for the price.

Feed the Kitty by Former Jaguar pilot in OKC on 11/05/2001. Trim: 1989 Jaguar Vanden Plas, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: You can either have a used econobox or a used Jaguar. The econobox depreciates faster than Aghanistanian farmland, the Jaguar holds its value. You're friends will always think you're rich and you may need to be (see below). It will still double most speed limits, gets exceptional gas mileage for its size/weight, and- above all -isn't a mini-van.
Cons: Only true mechanic-elecric trouble-shooters need apply. Routine maintenance on this car is easy, figuring out why your interior lights flash like Studio 54 is not. Used parts aren't hard to find and there is a reason why. Good veterinarians (Cat Doctors) are tougher to find than a good sitcom.
Overall review: When all is said and done a $6000 Jaguar is just that. It ain't new, but it sure looks better than anything else that is....Other than a NEW Jaguar. If you buy a Jag, make sure you don't live rural or are lacking ASE/NASA certification in electronic system analysis.
