The lemon of the Lincolns by Krbr8d from Raleigh NC on 02/24/2001. Trim: 1989 Lincoln Continental Signature, Owned 3 years.
Pros: looks good, great style & comfort
Cons: Had a great sound system when it was working. Heat & a/c was good when it was working. Pray that your air ride never fails. If so, neck braces are a good investment. Trunk motor has burned out. just replaced starter last night. Too many repairs.
Overall review: Beautiful car, just have a pocketful of money or a mechanic in the family.

5 Years of Tears by Sidqi from Arabia on 07/26/2011. Trim: 1989 Lincoln Continental Signature, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: The style, features and ride. The car came loaded with luxury features. The ride felt like a Rolls Royce.
Cons: Pooor quality. The suspension system broke down several times; had to replace all twice during warranty. The third time, the dealer wanted to charge me for it. But after I wrote to the President of Ford Motors, orders came from Detroit to replace them free of charge. Engine head cracked twice. Brake master cylinder failed many times. Windows fell into door. AC failed once. Onboard computer had a mind of its own. All of this within first 60,000 miles. Finally sold the car in 1995 to a junk yard for $1500. Ford wanted to build a car like the s-class Mercedes but used a mix of car, truck and motorcycle components glued together with silicone adhesive. I vowed not to buy a Ford again.
Overall review: A monumental fiasco.

Not too bad, but not too great either by An MSN Autos Consumer on 09/22/2004. Trim: 1989 Lincoln Continental Signature, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Large size for a modern day vehicle, roomy interior, comfortable seats, smooth ride, decent acceleration(from a V6), solidly built for the most part, engine is fairly reliable if taken care of.
Cons: Interior bits are a bit shoddy(eg. steering wheel is chipping away, dash board is cracking etc.), auto windows are a nightmare in the front(won't go up and down anymore), has a
Overall review: I got the '89 Continental Signature used when it was 14 years old. It had 129,000 miles on it. It's a fairly nice car to ride in. Comfortable, smooth ride, etc. However, it has special quirks that most cars don't have. Some of these can be a pain and can get costly to repair. Engine runs okay, but fluids need added quite often. Transmission gets weird at times too.
